If you are looking for a place to get resources and interventions dedicated to topics mindfulness, play therapy, relational neurosciences, creativity development, play development, games in therapy, anxiety in children and teens, stories in therapy, and more…..then the Umbrella Community is meant for you!

When I was working with children in palliative care as a music therapist, I found myself completely stuck in trying to support the mental health needs of my clients. Things like anxiety, depression, end-of-life concerns, grief, emotional expression, regulation, and other issues were pervasive within their needs and concerns. I felt somewhat ill-prepared to support all of these various mental health concerns and needed intervention ideas, knowledge, and support. But I had no where to go and only a few solid people to lean on.

This led me to pursue additional education and after years of learning, growing, studying, supervision, and testing, I become a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. The Umbrella Community was born out of necessity; You aren’t alone in how you are feeling — I’ve been there and there have been so many others in the same boat as you and now there is one place to get all of the support that you need.

If you have ever felt like…..

  • You want to support the mental wellbeing of EVERY child that you work with
  • You want monthly free resources like interventions, visuals, ideas, and inspiration
  • You want support with verbal counseling skills specifically for children
  • You want to learn more about trauma-informed care and mental health
  • You want to expand your understanding of the creative arts within therapy
  • You want to learn how to adapt interventions to support all learners
  • You want someone to help guide you through this process so you aren’t alone

Then you are in the right place.

We are uniquely situated to support children in building their resiliency through creative expression, but only if we have the right tools in our bag. This community is a place to grow your knowledge, build your confidence, practice your skills, get ideas, and develop connections with other creative therapists and educators!

“It is a great space for peer support from other creative arts therapists, especially for the private practice and independent contractors like myself who do not have a lot of opportunities for that.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this work?

Once you become a member, you will immediately gain access to your community dashboard. From here you will have access to the resource archive that is continually growing with new intervention ideas, slideshows, visuals, informational downloads, implementation videos, and more.

You’ll be sent monthly resource emails, links for zoom calls, and be given access to the private Facebook group. Your membership lasts for one year from purchase date and you get locked in at that price if you decide to stay for more than one year. The cost of the community does increase with time due to the increase in resources. You earn the 15 CMTE’s by attending or watching the group consultation calls starting with the month you joined the community!

Why do I need to know this information to be a great clinician/educator?

As trusted adults in a child’s life, it is imperative that we are aware of child development and feel prepared with verbal processing skills. EVERY child has mental health and we can all support positive well-being through developing our understanding of trauma-informed care, child mental health, and play development. We can then expand our ability to use child counseling skills for every child and support their creative resiliency. Take a look at the topics we will be covering this year!

What is the cost?

The cost for October 2021 is $254, paid once per year or in monthly installments. If you join now, you will get locked in at that yearly price for the whole time that you would like to be a member. The price will most likely increase each year for new members who join due to the increasing amount of resources within the library.

If you are interested in adding a supervision package to the community membership, you can see the various prices for individual and group supervision here.

Why does this open only twice per year to limited members?

To uphold the quality of the community experience, it is imperative that this community have a limited amount of new members every six months. It is not in any way to exclude anyone but to maintain the highest quality possible and intimacy that such a group deserves. Every six months, the member quota will grow, but it will be limited (similar to taking classes in college– there really is limited space!) So hop on the waiting list now!

What are in the e-mails I get each month?

Each month, you’ll be sent a curated email that includes informational downloads, intervention ideas, and an implementation video. These resources will follow along with the monthly theme, which you can see on our schedule. This will be sent a week or two ahead of our scheduled consultation call so you can have time to review it and come up with questions or ideas for the group call. Then at our group consultations all, we will go over these materials and discuss implementation ideas, questions, and concerns and engage in experiential learning. Notes from the group consultation call will be sent to you via e-mail and will be available in the resource library.

What are the topics we will cover in the group consultation calls?

Here is a schedule and list of the topics we will cover in the upcoming year. There will be time to cover additional topics and it is encouraged to share what supports you need so we can create those resources for you and put them in the library!

What are the group consultation calls like?

The most fun ever (but I am biased!) Each call we will go over information, resources, and clinical examples on a particular topic that is sent out each month as well as breakout into group for experiential learning. From here, we will open up to questions and focus on how to apply this information into your sessions and your work! Notes from the group consultation call will be sent to you via e-mail and will be available in the resource library.

How do I get the CMTE credits?

In order to receive the 15 CMTE credits, you will have to attend and/or watch 15 recorded group consultation calls starting with the date you joined and ending with the last month of your membership. At the end of your year, you will get an e-mail with links to the evaluation and the post-test. Once you pass the post-test, you will be sent a pre-approved CBMT certificate!

Can I join for just one month?

Unfortunately, no. At this time the membership is an annual commitment with the option to pay monthly or annually.

Is this just for music therapists?

No! Clinicians, educators, caregivers, and parents can find this space incredibly useful to develop their knowledge of children as well.

Are there special rates for students or groups?

Yes! Please reach out and email me to learn about the special rates!

What do I get discounts on?

As a member of the community, you will receive huge discounts on courses, podcast bundles, that are launched through the Creative Therapy Umbrella, included our previous courses.
