In this episode, Shelley shares her experiences as a music therapist serving children with a variety of complex needs. She discusses her decisions surrounding grad school, her current research, and her experiences with music therapy via telehealth. Shelley has a lot to share and so much great wisdom in this episode– her informative rambling is the best!!
Shelley is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) who earned her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. She has been a member of the Child and Family Therapy Center of Denver team since April 2017. Shelley completed her music therapy internship at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she provided services across the inpatient rehabilitation, hematology/oncology, and intensive care units. She is currently earning her Masters of Music in Music Therapy through Colorado State University, with a focus on child development and pediatric medical care. Shelley strives to create a success-oriented environment by utilizing evidence-based interventions to assist her clients and their families in reaching their individualized goals.
